When and How to Take Trospium XR

Some general considerations for when and how to take trospium XR include the following:
 
  • Trospium XR comes in the form of a capsule. It is taken once a day in the morning.
     
  • Trospium XR should be taken at least one hour before a meal, because it should be taken on an empty stomach.
     
  • Because trospium XR is an extended-release medication, do not open, chew, or break trospium XR capsules.
     
  • Trospium XR should be taken at the same time each day in order to maintain an even level of the medication in your blood.
     
  • For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed.

Trospium XR is made jointly by Indevus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Esprit Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
 

Trospium XR Strengths

Trospium XR capsules come in one strength -- trospium XR 60 mg.
 

Is There a Generic Version of Trospium XR?

Currently, there is no generic version of trospium XR licensed for sale (see Generic Sanctura XR).
