Possible Side Effects of Trospium XR

Trospium XR has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occur in a group of people taking the drug are documented and then compared to the side effects that occur in another group of people not taking the medicine. As a result, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.
 
In these studies, the most common side effects of trospium XR included:
 
Other common trospium XR side effects, occurring in 1 to 2 percent of people, included:
 
  • Dry eyes
  • Gas
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
  • Indigestion or heartburn
  • A swollen or bloated abdomen
  • Nasal dryness.
 

Rare Side Effects of Trospium XR

There are other, less common trospium XR side effects that can occur. These side effects occur in less than 1 percent of people taking trospium XR. For these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether the side effect is caused by trospium XR or something else.
 
These less common trospium XR side effects include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Blurred vision
  • Hard stools
  • Back pain
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry skin.
