Trospium XR Interactions Explained

Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors
Combining trospium XR with an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor can make both medications less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and adjust your dose of these medications.
 
Alcohol
Do not consume any alcohol within two hours of taking a dose of trospium XR.
 
Other Anticholinergic Medicines
Taking trospium XR (which is an anticholinergic medication) with another anticholinergic medication can increase your risk of certain trospium XR side effects, such as a dry mouth, constipation, dry eyes, or difficulty passing urine.
 
Pramlintide (Symlin)
Both pramlintide and anticholinergic medications (including trospium XR) can slow down the movement of food through the digestive tract. Taking these medications together can increase the risk of severe constipation or nausea. Talk with your healthcare provider before combining these medications.
