What Is Tobramycin and Dexamethasone?
Tobramycin and
dexamethasone (
Tobradex®) is a prescription eye medication. It contains both an antibiotic and a steroid. It is approved for treating certain eye conditions that involve both inflammation and an infection (or a risk for an infection).
Are There Side Effects?
As with any medicine, tobramycin and dexamethasone can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
Common side effects of tobramycin and dexamethasone include but are not limited to:
- Eyelid itching
- Eyelid swelling
- Eye redness.
