Although there are no generic versions of
testosterone pellets (
Testopel®), certain pharmacies may formulate a similar testosterone pellet. These "bioidentical" products are hormone pellets that are specially formulated for implantation just beneath the skin. Although these products are known as generic testosterone implant pellets, they are not generic versions of testosterone pellets.
While all of the patents and exclusivity rights for testosterone pellets have expired, no manufacturer has chosen to make a generic version of the drug. Therefore, it is difficult to know if or when a generic version of testosterone pellets will be available.
