While most people tolerate the medication well, potential side effects of teriparatide include dizziness, joint pain, and runny or stuffy nose. In most cases, these side effects are minor and don't require medical attention. Serious Side Effects of Teriparatide
Some side effects with teriparatide, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
- Fainting
- Depression
- Symptoms of high calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcemia), such as:
- Unexplained rash
- Hives
- Itching
- Unexplained swelling
- Wheezing
- Difficulty breathing.
