While most people tolerate the medication well, potential side effects of teriparatide include dizziness, joint pain, and runny or stuffy nose. In most cases, these side effects are minor and don't require medical attention. There are, however, several potentially serious teriparatide side effects that should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately, such as fainting, depression, and signs of an allergic reaction.

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with teriparatide (Forteo™); however, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. Serious Side Effects of Teriparatide

Some side effects with teriparatide, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:

Fainting
Depression
Symptoms of high calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcemia), such as:

Nausea and vomiting
Constipation
Lethargy
Muscle weakness

Bone cancer
Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:

Unexplained rash
Hives
Itching
Unexplained swelling
Wheezing
Difficulty breathing.
