Side Effects of Solifenacin Succinate

Blurry vision, dry mouth, constipation, and urinary tract infection are the most commonly reported side effects of solifenacin succinate. These side effects are usually mild and, in most cases, do not need to be reported to a healthcare provider. However, certain solifenacin succinate side effects are potentially serious and may require immediate medical attention, such as depression, confusion, and difficulty urinating.

 

An Introduction to Side Effects of Solifenacin Succinate

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with solifenacin succinate (VESIcare®); however, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Serious Side Effects of Solifenacin Succinate

Some side effects with solifenacin succinate, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Severe constipation
  • Worsening of glaucoma
  • Difficulty passing urine
  • Confusion
  • Depression
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as unexplained rash, hives, itching, wheezing, and unexplained swelling.
