Tofacitinib Drug Information

When taken to treat rheumatoid arthritis, tofacitinib (Xeljanz®) works by blocking certain enzymes in the body that are responsible for regulating immune cell function. It comes as a tablet that is usually taken once or twice a day.
 
The information obtained during clinical trials on tofacitinib showed that side effects are common with this drug. Some of the most commonly reported problems include infections, headaches, and diarrhea. Not everyone can use this product, including those who are taking certain medications and people who have certain allergies.
