Raloxifene HCl for Osteoporosis

Sold under the brand name Evista®, raloxifene hydrochloride (HCl) is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It is also used to reduce the risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women, regardless of whether osteoporosis is present.
 
Raloxifene works by binding to estrogen receptors in the breast and by increasing bone mineral density. This prescription drug comes in the form of a tablet and is typically taken once a day.
