Ropinirole XL Dosage

The ropinirole XL dosage your healthcare provider prescribes will be based on several factors, such as how you respond to the medication and other medications you are taking. In general, the recommended starting dosage is ropinirole XL 2 mg once daily. If your symptoms are not adequately controlled, your healthcare provider can slowly increase your dose of ropinirole XL, up to 24 mg per day.

An Introduction to Ropinirole XL Dosage

The dose of ropinirole XL (Requip® XL) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
 
  • How you respond to ropinirole XL
  • Other medications you are taking
  • Any other medical conditions you may have.
     
As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
 

Recommended Ropinirole XL Dosing

The recommended starting ropinirole XL dose is 2 mg once daily. After one or two weeks, your healthcare provider may slowly increase your dose (by up to 2 mg each week), up to a maximum of 24 mg once daily.
 
If you are switching from short-acting Requip, refer to the following chart for the recommended conversion from Requip to ropinirole XL:

Because ropinirole XL tablets cannot be split, you may need to take more than one strength to achieve the proper dose.
