Drug Interactions With Raloxifene

Drug interactions with raloxifene can occur if it is combined with bile-acid sequestrants, estrogen medications, thyroid medications, and warfarin. These interactions can increase the risk of side effects or may make raloxifene less effective. Raloxifene hydrochloride (Evista^®) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with raloxifene include:

Bile-acid sequestrant cholesterol medications, such as:
- Cholestyramine (Prevalite^®, Questran^®, Questran^® Light)
- Colesevelam (WelChol^®)
- Colestipol (Colestid^®)

Diazepam (Valium^®, Diastat^®)
Estrogen medications, including many oral contraceptives (birth control pills) and hormone replacement therapies
Thyroid medications, such as:
- Liothyronine (Cytomel^®)
- Liotrix (Thyrolar^®)
- Levothyroxine (Levoxyl^®, Synthroid^®, Unithroid^®)
- Thyroid (Armor^® Thyroid, Nature-Throid^®)

Warfarin (Coumadin^®, Jantoven^®).
