Who Shouldn't Use This Medication?

You should not take oxybutynin gel if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Gelnique, oxybutynin chloride, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma (an eye condition).
     
  • Have difficulty passing urine (known medically as urinary retention). This is often caused by conditions such as an enlarged prostate.
     
  • Have a condition that slows down the emptying of food from your stomach.
