Nitroglycerin Drug Interactions

Negative reactions may occur when nitroglycerin is combined with blood pressure medications, ergot medicines, alcohol, and various other drugs. Interactions with nitroglycerin can decrease the effectiveness of the medications or increase the risk for side effects. Before using a nitroglycerin product, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of all medications you are taking.

Nitroglycerin (Minitran™, Nitro-Bid®, Nitro-Dur®, Nitrolingual®, NitroMist®, Nitrostat®, Rectiv™) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with nitroglycerin include but are not limited to:
