Memantine XR
Memantine XR is a prescription Alzheimer's disease medication. It comes in the form of an extended-release capsule and is only taken once daily. Although this medicine is tolerated well by most people, it is not suitable for everyone. You may not be able to use it if you have certain conditions, such as epilepsy or kidney disease, or if you are using certain medications.

Memantine XR (Namenda XR®) is a prescription medication approved for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is a long-acting, once-daily version of an older medication used for treating Alzheimer's.

Just like any medicine, memantine XR can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well. If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
