Senior Health Home > Colcrys Warnings and Precautions

Who Should Not Take Colcrys?

You should avoid Colcrys if you:
  • Are allergic to it or to any inactive ingredients used in making Colcrys. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
  • Have liver disease or kidney disease and are taking a CYP 3A4 inhibitor or P-glycoprotein inhibitor medication (see Colcrys Drug Interactions for a list of such medications).

Final Thoughts

There are a number of situations in which Colcrys should not be taken, along with several safety concerns people should be aware of before beginning treatment. However, it is possible that not all of these issues were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your healthcare provider about the specific Colcrys warnings and precautions that may apply to you.
