Following any surgery on a joint, you may experience stiffness. This is usually very minor, however occasionally extra scar tissue can form in the joint which makes movement difficult. This is especially likely after an infection or after a procedure where a large portion of the synovium is removed. This stiffness is usually treated with physical therapy at first, but a repeat surgery may be necessary to truly improve knee motion.
