Drug Interactions With Ketoconazole Gel

Ketoconazole gel (Xolegel®) is unlikely to react with other medications. It is a medicated gel that is applied to the skin. Only small amounts of the drug are absorbed into the bloodstream, making it difficult for interactions to occur.
It is possible that ketoconazole gel could react with other medications that are applied to the skin, but no drug interaction studies have been done to check for this possibility. If you use other skin medications at the same time, check with your healthcare provider before using ketoconazole gel. You might need to use them at different times of the day, to avoid potential interactions.
Although there are no known drug interactions with ketoconazole gel at this time, remember to include it in your medication list for your healthcare providers. People may forget to include skin products, as they do not necessarily come to mind when trying to remember all the medications you are using.
