Hylan G-F 20 (Synvisc^®) is an osteoarthritis treatment that is injected directly into the knee. It is approved for treating arthritis of the knee in people who have not experienced adequate pain relief from medications or non-drug treatments (such as physical therapy or lifestyle changes). It is most appropriate for people who are not yet good candidates for knee replacement surgery. Hylan G-F 20 is often used in order to delay an inevitable knee replacement.
