Fluocinonide Gel

Fluocinonide gel is licensed for the treatment of a variety of skin conditions. As a potent steroid that reduces inflammation and suppresses an overactive immune system, this medicine can help relieve symptoms of skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. This skin gel, which is available by prescription, is typically used two to four times daily. Side effects may include burning, dryness, and irritation.

What Is Fluocinonide Gel?

Fluocinonide gel (Lidex®) is a prescription skin medication. It belongs to a group of medications known as topical steroids and is used to treat inflammation and itching due to a wide variety of skin conditions, such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and allergic reactions.

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, fluocinonide gel may cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
 
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
 
Common side effects of fluocinonide gel include but are not limited to:

  • Itching
