What Is Extended-Release Gabapentin?
Extended-release
gabapentin (
Gralise™) is a prescription medication approved for the treatment of nerve pain that occurs after a case of
shingles (known medically as
postherpetic neuralgia). It is a long-acting tablet that is taken just once a day.
Just like any medicine, extended-release gabapentin can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Headaches
- Swelling in the extremities.
