Magnesium Products
Magnesium binds to etidronate in the stomach, preventing it from being absorbed in the body and making it less effective. Do not take magnesium supplements within two hours of taking etidronate.
 
Teriparatide (Forteo)
In studies, combining teriparatide with medications like etidronate seemed to make teriparatide less effective. Talk to your healthcare provider before using these medications together.
 
Warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven)
There have been reports that etidronate may interact with warfarin, possibly increasing the risk of bleeding due to warfarin. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and adjust your warfarin dosage, especially when starting or stopping etidronate.
