General Information on Taking Denosumab

Some considerations for people receiving denosumab injections include the following:
 
  • The medication comes in an injectable form. It is injected just under the skin, in the abdomen (lower stomach), upper arm, or upper thigh.
     
  • Your healthcare provider should administer the injections (the product is not designed for at-home use).
     
  • For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. It will not work if you stop taking it.
     
  • Do not stop taking the drug without first discussing it with your healthcare provider.
     
  • If you are unsure about anything related to your dosage or denosumab dosing in general, please talk with your healthcare provider, nurse, or pharmacist.
