Drug Interactions With Darifenacin

Many medications can cause negative drug interactions with darifenacin, including thioridazine, tricyclic antidepressants, pramlintide, and protease inhibitors. These drug interactions could reduce the effectiveness of the medications or increase your risk for developing side effects, such as dry mouth, constipation, and difficulty passing urine. To prevent drug interactions with darifenacin from occurring, tell your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking.

 

Drug Interactions With Darifenacin: An Overview

Darifenacin (Enablex®) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with darifenacin include:
 
  • Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
  • Anticholinergic drugs, such as:
 
 
  • Certain antifungals or antibiotics, such as:
 
    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
    • Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
    • Isoniazid (Nydrazid®)
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
