Drug Interactions With Carbidopa

Carbidopa is always used in combination with levodopa, a medication that may interact with a number of drugs. Some of the drugs that may lead to levodopa (and therefore carbidopa) drug interactions include metoclopramide, blood pressure medicines, and tricyclic antidepressants. To help minimize your risk of developing drug interactions with carbidopa, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking.

 

Carbidopa Drug Interactions: An Overview

Carbidopa (Lodosyn®) itself probably does not interact with other medications. However, carbidopa is always used in combination with levodopa products (such as Sinemet®, Sinemet® CR, Parcopa®, or Stalevo®). Levodopa can potentially interact with several different medications.
